Welcome to Language Garden, Sussex’s German Preschool!
Nestled on the edge of the South Downs in Falmer’s beautiful old village school, the Language Garden offers a magical space for immersive learning.
In our idyllic little world, we learn through activity. While we play, sing, bake, paint and go on woodland adventures, we learn German language and culture, make new friends and have lots of fun.
We keep our groups small to best support each child’s language development.
We welcome children who are German native speakers or bilinguals and offer
some places to those new to the language.
Why is bilingualism good for your child?
Pre-school sessions
We are offering sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and operate on 46 weeks of the year.
During these sessions, we exclusively speak German, reinforcing words with gestures and hand signals to allow the children to deepen existing language knowledge or to learn a new language.
Most of our children have very regular exposure to the language with a family member or caregiver and understand or even speak German.
But even those children that are new to German can learn it naturally if they are surrounded by it enough.
